TAG Farnborough Airport CEO outlines importance of business aviation links between Europe and Asia
15th April 2013 by TAG Farnborough Airport
Brandon O’Reilly, CEO of TAG Farnborough Airport, has outlined the increasing importance of the Europe-Asia business aviation industry ahead of the Asian Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition 2013 (ABACE 2013), which commences on 16 April 2013 in Shanghai.
“With Asia’s economic significance continuing to grow on the global stage, business aviation has an increasingly important role to play in providing point to point connections between business centres in Asia and Europe, particularly where commercial aviation does not provide timely and direct service,” said O’Reilly.
“In 2012, TAG Farnborough Airport handled flights between 835 different destinations worldwide; more than three times the number of destinations served by scheduled airlines from other London airports. As a dedicated business aviation airport, we benefit from having the infrastructure and capacity already in place to facilitate connections between cities throughout Asia and one of Europe’s leading financial capitals.”
TAG Farnborough Airport, located 40 miles from central London, recently completed more than £100 million investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure, purpose-built for the requirements of business aviation customers. It now features an award-winning terminal, control tower and more than 240,000 sq ft of hangarage space and office accommodation.
Named ‘International FBO of the Year’ by readers of Aviation International News (AIN) magazine for six consecutive years, the airport also offers a wide range of amenities including concierge service, direct ramp access for customers wanting to drive up to waiting jets, a crew room with ‘snooze’ facilities, The Aviator hotel (also part of the TAG Group) located on-site as well as aircraft maintenance and servicing from TAG Farnborough Engineering.
This is the third successive year that the airport is exhibiting at ABACE, a conference aimed at increasing the business aviation market in Asia, which is being held in the new Shanghai Hawker Pacific Business Aviation Service Centre at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, 16-18 April 2013.
TAG Farnborough Airport’s stand at ABACE is #H126, which it shares with TAG Aviation Asia, a TAG Group sister company that provides aircraft management, charter and brokerage services throughout the Asia Pacific region.
